APC chieftain in Owerri Municipal and APC candidate for Owerri Federal Constituency in the last election, Chief Chijioke Donald Brigars Williams, has hailed Imo based journalist, Emma Chukwu, for writing, publishing and presenting 2 inspiring books.

The books, "Sorrows of Africa and How African Leaders Underdeveloped Africa and Governor Hope Uzodimma and the Collective War to Liberate Imo: The Memoirs of a Journalist", were officially launched at Rockview Hotel Owerri on Thursday amid excitement.

CDB Williams who was the Chairman of the occasion, in his opening remarks, encouraged the author who he identified as his good friend to write more books, document them in the internet as well to encourage young people to embellish their brains, have positive ideas towards the growth and edification of the society.

He said the books are indeed intellectual harvest having been succinctly written by an ace journalist who he said loves Imo State and Africa dearly, urging people across board to as well encourage him by buying and reading his books to have new and better ideas on how to add impetus to the advancement of Imo State, Nigeria and Africa in general.

The APC candidate for Owerri Federal Constituency in the 2023 election frowned at the nonchalance attitude of some young minds in reading books and developing intellectual ideas and abilities towards having a bright future in an organized environment.

While launching the book generously, the first Mayor of Owerri hinted that the book also captures the political trajectory of Governor Hope Uzodimma into Douglas House, a trajectory he advised young Imo people to follow as to succeed in politics and governance, just as the Governor, who he described as a good leader with generous heart.

"The two books by Emma Chukwu are apt. They are indeed intellectual harvest which will richly educate, inform and entertain those who read them and will definitely add to the development of Imo State and Africa. We need to encourage the author to ensure that people do not go away from writing and reading good books as these ones that are unveiled today. I also encourage him to put his books in the internet for easy access. Youths should endeavor to follow the courageous political path of Governor Hope Uzodimma for fair politics and sterling governance", CDB Williams stressed.

Expressing gratitude to those who graced the book unveiling, the author, Emma Chukwu, said he was moved to write the books by the leadership style of Governor Hope Uzodimma and the underdevelopment of Africa by Africans. He specially thanked CDB Williams for being the Chairman of the occasion.

The book launch was graciously attended by  personalities including Chief CDB Williams, first Mayor of Owerri and a pragmatic politician, former APC Caretaker Committee Chairman, Prince Nlemigbo Marcellenus, HRH, Eze Jeo Anika, traditional ruler of Ata autonomous community, Ikeduru LGA and a veteran journalist, Publisher of Lead Express Newspapers and IMPA Chairman, Declan Anaele, former NUJ Chairman, Chief Chris Akaraonye and current NUJ Chairman, Imo State Chapter, Comr.
