...... DIGITAL REVOLUTION IN IMO EDUCATION SECTOR STANDS HIM OUT/ FERDINALD SPEAKS.

The special Adviser to the Governor on Secondary Education Management Board, Hon Ezeala Ferdinand Akano on 26th July, 2023 outlist the achievements of the shared prosperity administration within three years in office especially on the secondary school level which encompass on his office .

Akano while responding to pressmen in his office in Owerri, commended the good initiative of His Excellency Sen Hope Uzodinma in revamping the education sector for the benefit of our future leaders . He said , "what we are witnessing today is part of the gains of the masterplan of Shared prosperity administration in the past few years. It wasn't like this before the advent of this administration. Imo State was neglected and nobody thought of us .

Apart from lauding the education reform , infrastructure development, training and retraining of teachers by the present administration he also expressed that teachers from Imo State have the highest number of participants and also performed excellently in various training and workshops organized by the state government in partnership with private sector for capacity building and effective performance in teaching.


In order to inspire , bore and motivate the workforces in our educational system , the Governor has consistently demonstrated love by prioritise the yearning of the teachers and providing their needs with quick response , such payments of staffs , teachers and principals as well approving their promotions .

He further states that the Governor has tried much as possible to expand the scopes of involvements of patriotic citizens like the Old Students Association . These are the critical stakeholders in the development of secondary schools that assist to stabilise the system. He therefore implored the stakeholders to embrace  partnership programme just as Chukwunyere Nwihim foundation/Enyikwonwa organisation demonstrated in Nwangele Local Government Area , in order to improve the quality and standard of competition education in the state,and most importantly secure the future of our children.

His Excellency Sen Hope Uzodinma, in his quest to sustain the gains of his education reforms , has taken a step further by employing more teachers which their recruitment is still ongoing.


Without any doubt, Imo State succeeded in raising the bar of education standards in the state through digitization of teaching and learning. The development that has recorded dramatic improvements in learning outcomes for public school children across the state , which we have reiterated our commitment to ensure that it been evangelized across the 366 public secondary schools in the state.  Today the Secondary Education Management Board is partnering with MTN Nigeria to ensure that staffs upgrades the knowledge of digital world in discharging their mandates .

Honestly as Special Adviser to the Governor, my enthusiasm in the work is burn out of love for the Governor and the passion he has put in the overall development in Imo State especially in the education sector.

To be candid, ahead is a new era of better learning and improved learning outcomes for students across the heartland of eastern region. It is our responsibility to support the present administration for the second term for it to continue this laudable programme in education and others life touching projects and programme the administration has embarked upon. It is believed that with this colossal development, Imo State will regain its lost glory and also be a pace-setter among her peers in the country.

Certainly, second term is not only an option but a must for the betterment of our future leaders, Imolites and Nigeria at large.

It is now good here in Imo State, let us keep it up and support the continuity of selfless and patriotic leader, Governor Sen Hope Uzodinma  led administration for posterity.
