To encourage, boost the production of chickens, eggs, as well as reduce their cost in the market, Asia Africa Corporation (AAC) in conjunction with National Agricultural Mechanization Cooperative Society of Nigeria (NAMCON), have empowered poultry farmers in Imo State with birds and products.
Thus, farmers who benefited from the pilot program are registered members of NAMCON who were duly trained on how to nurture the birds and harvest them within 5 weeks, as well as boost plenteous production of chickens in Imo State to astronomically reduce price cost for the affordability of all and sundry.
Handing the birds and the feeds to the farmers, Anchor Person for Asia Africa Corperation, Dr. Nwachukwu Earnest Chukwuemeka, said the poultry revolution program was targeted at helping farmers produce birds and eggs massively so that price of such products would reduce in the open market in the state.
"We are doing a poultry revolution program that will crash down the price of birds and eggs Nigeria because with the introduction of Nano Technology in agricultural development, using Nano Technology to grow these birds, you will make good profit as it will crash down the excesses you will incur, the birds will rarely be sick, they will grow quickly and in 5 weeks, the birds are fully matured. NAno Technology was mass produced so that our people can have poultry meet which will be available at all time in Nigeria", he said.
In his word, Chief Admin Officer of NAMCON, Barr. Maurice Chinwenwa Onyekpere, collaborated that the program was designed to assist the farmers to breed massive chickens and eggs as to reduce cost of birds and make them affordable to consumers.
Earlier, a potential poultry farmer in Umuaka, Njaba LGA, Comr. Amuche Akubuiro, added that the new Nano Technology brought into Imo State by Nwachukwu Earnest is a big plus to farmers, stating that the feat would encourage farmers to produce massive birds and eggs and make huge profit, indulging farmers who are yet to key in to do so in their own interest.
Expressing delight over the empowerment, some of the beneficiaries, Ahamefula Chiwetaudo and Patience Nwakamma, said the feat would spur them to boost their production as risk of rearing birds would reduce drastically, urging other members to join NAMCON.
