The Women wing of the United IMO Christian Network led by Rev Mrs Vivian Ekwurugo has continued to demonstrate their commitment to support the Imo state government to ensure positive changes to the narrative hence advocates for restoration of peace, security and called on Imo women, women organizations and the entire women in Christian community to use this year August meetings to ensure an end to the challenge of insecurity in the state.
Speaking to journalist in owerri, the state women leader for the United IMO Christian Network Rev Mrs Vivian Ekwurugo lamented that the sudden insecurity in Imo state must come to an end, with prayers, God's grace and the collective efforts of Imo people. She assured that the United IMO Christian Network women wings across the 305 wards in Imo state has been charged with the responsibility to ensure that the issue of support to government and the end to insecurity top their agenda in August meetings in their respective villages and communities. She also pointed out that the actors or agents of these insecurity comes from a home hence the mother's should use this year August meetings to caution their children.
According to Rev Vivian Ekwurugo she said, " The time has come that we will not watch to see evil take over our societies. I am calling on Imo women, women organizations and the entire women in Imo Christian community to join hands with government to find a permanent solution to the current insecurity in the state and in Igbo land. In fact, this year August meetings is an opportunity for Imo women across the state to call their children to order and rebuke them of bad characters and lifestyles, particularly their youths that are used to create insecurity in the state".
In another development, the state leader of the women wing of the United IMO Christian Network Rev Mrs Vivian Ekwurugo commended the Imo women for their contribution in churches, societies, politics hence emphasized on their commitment and resilience to ensure significant positive impacts in various communities. " I am confident that with prayers and the implementation of our war against insecurity in this year August meetings, absolute peace will be restored again in Imo state
No doubt, when mother's talk to their children in a language they will understand, their children must have a change of lifestyle. Again, most mother's need to understand that when a home is spored, it is the cause of the mother. The lives of our youths are living now is wrong but with prayers and correction, they will change for good"- Rev Vivian Ekwurugo said.
It was gathered that United IMO Christian Network, a massive grassroots religious structure involving God's people from various denomination with commitment to support government across the 305 wards for a better IMO state.
