UNILAG students under the aegis of Students Solidarity Group Against Fee Hike have been staging protests in the school to kick against the tuition fee hike.
Former federal lawmaker, Senator Shehu Sani, has declared his full support for the protesting students of the University of Lagos (UNILAG) over the recent hike in tuition by the management of the school.
UNILAG students under the aegis of Students Solidarity Group Against Fee Hike have been staging protests in the school to kick against the tuition fee hike.
The students’ solidarity group is demanding an immediate reversal of the school fees as well as proper funding of education by the Bola Tinubu-led Nigerian government.
The group has been calling on Nigerian students across the country to reject what it described as unconscionable fee hikes, stressing that students and parents have been thrown into untold hardship.
After the students’ second protest in one week, they vowed to continue with the protest on Thursday.
Meanwhile, Senator Sani on Wednesday said the “students' protest against the hike in school fees is commendable.”
The former lawmaker who said this on his X (formerly Twitter) handle, added, “Students from other higher institutions across the country facing same situation should emulate them.”
