Community primary School field, Irete in Owerri West Local Government Area of Imo State was filled to its brim on Sunday 1st October,2023 where women trooped out enmass and joined the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC.
Honourable Commissioner for Lands, Survey and Physical Planning,Hon. Noble Abiaso Atulegwu,Aladinma Ndom comprising 18 villages of Irete,APC Ward Chairman, Women Leaders and other stakeholders of Irete Community were all present during the event.
Addressing the marmot crowd, the President-General of Aladinma Ndom Irete, Evangelist Mrs. Francisca Chileme Owuamanam stated that the women decided to "pitch tent" with APC so as to appreciate Governor Hope Uzodimma of Imo State for appointing two of their Sons,Hon. Noble Abiaso Atulegwu, Commissioner for Lands, Survey and Physical Planning and Prof. Eugene Opara as Commissioner for Petroleum.
Evang. Owuamanam noted that they have no other option than to reciprocate Governor Hope Uzodimma's love for Irete people by mobilizing heavily to re-elect him come 11th November,2023 off-cycle Imo State gubernatorial election.
She thanked the Governor for appointing their two sons as first-class Commissioners in his cabinet. "We have been yearning for our children to be appointed commissioner,but today, Governor Hope Uzodimma has fulfilled our dream. And the Governor has demonstrated his love for Irete people by appointing their Sons into first-class ministries. We are direct beneficiaries of Uzodimma's administration because our Sons are not "cola-nut servers". Our Son,Hon. Noble Abiaso Atulegwu has extended his hands of fellowship to his Irete people. Hon. Atulegwu has empowered youths by purchasing shuttle buses for them to earn their living,while he gave #100,000 to #150,000 to each market women to start and boost their businesses. So,we are ready for Uzodimma's 4+4 arithematic formula",she assured.
Responding, the Commissioner for Lands , Survey and Physical Planning, Hon. Noble Abiaso Atulegwu thanked the women for solemnly took the decision to declare for APC and support His Excellency, Distinguished Senator Hope Uzodimma's re-election.
He stated that his Irete women have demonstrated uncommon love for him and the Governor promising not to disappoint them.
He urged them to also come out enmass on 11th November,2023 and re-elect Governor Hope Uzodimma.
"Governor Hope Uzodimma has performed more than his predecessors, except late Sam Mbakwe, but he will surpass Mbakwe's records after his 8years in office. I want to tell you that you are going to work as APC agents in your various polling booths on the election day", the Commissioner stated.
In her vote of thanks, the Secretary-General of Aladinma Ndom Irete,Lolo Philomina Iheanacho thanked the Commissioner,Hon. Noble Abiaso Atulegwu for empowering youths and women of Irete reiterating their support for Governor's re-election bid.
