COURT ORDERS INEC TO PUBLISH NAME OF PRP CANDIDATE FOR IMO NOVEMBER ELECTION.

Federal high court sitting in owerri has ordered the Independent electoral commission INEC to publish the name of People's redemption party (PRP) candidate which was initially omitted in their website.

Justice E O Quadri who gave the judgment on 3rd October 2023 declared that the name of the PRP candidate was wrongfully excluded in the INEC list of nominated candidates published on may 12th for Imo state gubernatorial election and directed that it should be published with immediate effect.


While speaking with journalist, the legal adviser of PRP Barr. Julius chijindu ugwuoke noted that is the legal right of every political party to be represent by a governorship candidate adding that their party has gone through all the necessary process as the omission of their candidate name in the INEC published list is not the partys fault .

" we are happy for the judgment delivered today and by the order of the court INEC have to effect the correction with immediate effect, he said.

The state secretary of the PRP Comr. Martins Ogbonna posited that they filed the suit against INEC on May 24th when they discovered that their candidate name Hon.Uche Ishiodu was not among the candidate list published by INEC.

He further expressed satisfaction on the court Judgement stressing that PRP is structured and committed to wining the imo state gubernatorial election come November 11.
