I commend Umuntu Community for their support to the NDDC to embark on this project.
The issue of unemployment and poverty in Umuntu Community, is a shared problem that people of the Niger Delta experience. Which led to the establishment of the Niger Delta Development Commission to intervene and provide succor for the people of the region.
“All of us from the Niger Delta are united by one common factor which is underdevelopment and the need for infrastructural projects… Hence NDDC was established to look at all these challenges in the region… We decided as a promise to ensure that all projects that NDDC initiated, we will not abandon them. This is one of such projects that we chose to commission.”
In line with the project H.O.P.E Initiative, this center will serve as a training ground for youths in agro and fish farming which will further create job opportunities for the people in the region.
“This commissioning portrays the fact that NDDC is committed to creating the even and sustainable development of the Niger Delta region. And despite the challenges faced like the vandalism and stealing of infrastructure in the facility, the project has been completed… We urge you to take this project, accept it and protect it jealously so at the end of the day the project will be beneficial to the people of Umuntu community.”

The NDDC Aquaculture Training Center consists of eight housing tanks ( fish pond) two hatcheries, two lecture blocks (consisting of two halls each), a six-room staff quarters, a four-room etc.
