The President General of okuku Autonomous Community in Owerri West Imo State, Comrade Ike Martin Daniel was presented with Merit Award for Community development by Imo State Newspaper limited . It is a deserving merit award for recognition of the sterling achievements and outstanding concerns for Community development by the President General
.
The General Manager of Imo State Newspaper limited, Barr lady Margaret Dibia while presenting the award to the Awardee , described the president General of okuku Autonomous Community, as a principled and committed patriot , who has devoted his life to serving humanity and his Community.
Comrade Ike Martin while fielding questions on the recognition from journalists at the event , expressed his appreciation for the honour , saying he was pleased to have been considered fit and worthy by a credible organisation like Imo State Newspaper limited.
He said, It is the first time to receive an award from the State owned Newspaper. This only happened because of my commitment ,outstanding performance and resourcefulness to my Community. He further narrate how the process of the nomination started , when all president Generals were called to pick forms and referred to their various local Government council for interview, which he went through the procedures.
He said that during the interview, he was to talk about his achievements since his assumption in office as president. " I have successfully attracted #10million classic medical centre , establishment of formidable vigilant group , Renovation of dilapidated primary school blocks and conducting of Peaceful Youth leadership Election which is first of its kind .
