The United IMO Christian Network has continued to demonstrate their commitment in supporting IMO government for good success by organizing a one day prayer summit in Owerri with the theme " Building For Better IMO state".
Speaking to newsmen shortly after their summit program at Owerri Municipal council chapel hall, the venue of the event, the state chairman for the United IMO Christian Network Dr. Emmanuel Amaefule assured that the group has resolved to support the IMO state government hence are committed in all aspects to enforce that. He pointed out that the Christian in the state are not a liability but assets and great hope to the state and societies.
Again, speaking also at the United IMO Christian Network one day summit was the Owerri zonal co ordinator Bishop Prof. Uzoma Emmanuel, who advocated on the role of the Church in society transformation. Hence, charged the Christians to show active participation in politics for a true better society.
According to Bishop Prof Uzoma Emmanuel he said, " It is an error that the church has lost the interest in public office, politics and governance. This no doubt, is the reason the people including the church are suffering. In fact, God knew that it will be the best for the church to be in place of authority hence the word of God said in Proverbs 29:2 " When the righteous is in authority, the people rejoice but when the wicked is in power the people mourn".
The summit which involved delegate executives of the United IMO Christian Network across the state, focused praying for the peaceful conduct of the November election in IMO state, prayer for the state and Nigeria, governor and his appointees, the church and her leaders as well as the restoration of peace and safety across IMO state.
It was gathered, that the United IMO Christian Network has vowed to make a significant positive impacts hence set to hold their conference in the 3 zones in the state namely Okigwe zone, Orlu zone and Owerri zone before the IMO state governorship election.
