Former United States of America President, Barack Obama, has reaffirmed the US’s backing of Israel against Hamas in the ongoing bloody war between Israel and Palestine.
As of Tuesday morning, CBS News reports that more than 1,500 people have been killed since the Hamas militant group launched a surprise attack on Israel from Gaza on Saturday.
The Hamas’ attack on Israel led to Israeli Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu’s declaration of "we are at war."
Reacting to the ongoing Israeli-Palestinian war, Obama in a post on X (formerly Twitter) on Monday night America stands squarely alongside its ally, Israel, as it dismantles Hamas.
Obama wrote, “All Americans should be horrified and outraged by the brazen terrorist attacks on Israel and the slaughter of innocent civilians.
“We grieve for those who died, pray for the safe return of those who’ve been held hostage, and stand squarely alongside our ally, Israel, as it dismantles Hamas.
“As we support Israel’s right to defend itself against terror, we must keep striving for a just and lasting peace for Israelis and Palestinians alike.”

An Israeli embassy spokesperson on Monday said that at least 900 Israelis, most of whom are civilians, have been killed so far while IDF international spokesperson, Lt. Col. (Res.) Jonathan Conricus, said that 2,500 have been reported wounded.
Conricus compared the ongoing Israel-Hamas conflict with the famous “war on terror”, historically known as 9/11, in the history of America.
It was further reported that more than 250 of the dead were Israelis who came under attack at the Supernova music festival near the border with Gaza when militants opened fire on the crowd.
Israeli officials also said that Hamas fighters captured more than 100 hostages including women, children and elderly people who were apparently taken into Gaza as captives.
White House on Monday confirmed that at least 11 U.S. citizens are among those who have been killed in the war while an unknown number of Americans remain missing.
