▪️Set To Mobilize 909 Field observers To Various Wards , Caution Political Parties Against Malpractice and Fraud .
A Civil Society Organisation under the aegis of the Human Life Protection Advocacy Initiative, HLPAI , accredited by Independent National Electoral Commission to observe the forthcoming off season Election of November 11 governorship election, has mapped out strategic mobilization of field observers across the nooks and crannies polling unit in Imo State, said they would monitor and expose any electoral fraud that may rise from Saturday's exercise as part of efforts to deepen electoral integrity.
It also promised to provide accurate information on the quality of the election day process and ascertain if the official results announced by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) reflects the total vote cast at the poll.
“If the official result announced reflects the polling unit’s votes,
HLPAI would confirm it,” it said
In statement made available to the news after training over 1000 fiel observers , The state Coordinator, Prince Maduba Chukwudi Francis said “ the group would be providing systematic, accurate and timely information on the election day process.”
According to him, Human Life Protection Advocacy Initiative commenced its pre-election observations from November 2023 with Long Term Observers (LTOs) deployed to the 305wards and 27 Local Government Areas.
“The LTOs systematically collect information on Pre-election environment and monitor electoral activities of stakeholders like INEC, political parties, National Orientation Agency+NOA),civil society groups, etc.
“The Pre-election environment revealed violent campaign rhetoric and hate speech, excessive use of force by political parties,” especially the three major political parties “and unhealthy electoral competition.”
The group for public compliance to the guidance of the electoral acts , caution police from compromising.
