Ogwuaga Abba Autonomous Community in Nwangele Local Government Area of Imo State was electrified on 26th December,2023 during the official opening and dedication ceremony of the Christ the king Catholic Church building single handedly built by Chief Johnbosco Ozigbo.
Speaking to Newsmen shortly after the Church service the President-General of Ogwuaga Abba Autonomous Community who is also the President of all the President-Generals in Nwangele Local Government Area as well as Orlu Zone, Chief Bona Akwuiwu maintained that Ogwuaga Abba Autonomous Community people are in festive and happy mood because of the celebration of our Lord Jesus Christ birth and brand new Church edifice erected by their son,Chief Dr. Johnbosco Ozigbo.
He specially thanked the Church building donor, Chief Ozigbo the Ogwuaga 1 of Ogwuaga Abba Autonomous Community and Ngele of Nwangele for his benevolence and philanthropic gesture which do not start from him,but from his family.
He recalled with nostalgia,how the first Catholic church was built by the same family member an Uncle to Chief Johnbosco Ozigbo.
"He was challenged by the former Bishop of Orlu Diocese, Bishop Gregory Ochiagha on the need to Consecrate the first indigenous Catholic Priest of Abba Ancient Kingdom in a home church and the edifice was built within few months by an Uncle to Chief Johnbosco Ozigbo and today the people of Abba have witnessed another transformation and reoccurring history from the same family", Akwuiwu noted.
Akwuiwu who was former Commissioner for Trade and Investment as well as Special Duties in Imo State said that he came back from his Overseas trip to witness the event and thanked Chief Johnbosco Ozigbo for making not only Ogwuaga Abba Autonomous Community proud,but all the Autonomous under the Abba Ancient Kingdom dust free by tarring all the minor and major link roads extolling him on his proposed solar streets lights projects that would light up the entire communities in Abba town any moment from now.
On his Christmas and New Year Message, Chief Akwuiwu advocated for peace and unity among the youth insisting that oneness remains the only panacea for community basic infrastructural development.
He advised youths to shun violence, crimes and criminalities.
According to him,"youths should be humble and honesty and emulate Chief Johnbosco Ozigbo who is not thinking about himself alone,but for the well-being of everybody. He has touched people's lives positively including building houses for indigents and less privileged families across Nwangele Local Government Area.
Although,I am optimistic that peace must surely return to Igbo communities and the society at large.
