As indigenes of Mbaise Nation prepare to celebrate this year's Iri Ji Mbaise cultural festival, the Sole Administrator of Aboh Mbaise Local Government Area of Imo State, Barr. Ogechi Njoku, has saluted them for sustaining the rich cultural festival.
Njoku gave the salute while speaking during the World Press Conference On The 2023 Iri Ji Mbaise National Festival organized by the Central Planning Committee of the festivity, held at Aboh Mbaise council headquarters, on Sunday.
She stated that the annual cultural event which she pointed out was bequeathed to the people by their revered wise progenitors, has been a unifying factor in Mbaise Nation, saying a lot of values have been gained since the introduction and celebration of Iri Ji Mbaise cultural event.
Njoku harped that she is very lucky and privileged to share rich experience in the festival as the Sole Administrator of Aboh Mbaise LGA, calling on all persons in Mbaise Nation to fully participate in the festival which she noted is going to be more unique, spectacular and successful.
"It is a unique opportunity to have experience in cultures and traditions of our respected communities. 15th August 2023 is a sacrosanct date for the annual Iri Ji Mbaise National Cultural Festival. This year's event will be more spectacular and successful. Many are happy waiting to participate in it. The traditional rulers in the 3 LGAs of Mbaise Nation had really shown commitment of being true custodians of our cultures and traditions. The Ezejis, the Ezuruezus are also up and doing, the Sole Administrators also are doing greatly as to have a hitch - free event, Njoku said.
She added, "although, the planning has not been easy, but we are going to host our quests well, especially the Governor of Imo State, Hope Uzodimma, his appointees, including the Members of State/National Assemblies. We appeal for peace and orderliness during and after the mega cultural festival.
