The 2023 Imo Gubernatorial Candidate of the Labour Party, LP, Sen.Athan Achonu, has stated it very louder and clearer that he will be elected and sworn-in into power as the Governor of the state at the ending of the forthcoming election exercise, come Jan.15th 2024.

The LP Guber Standardbearer, Sen.Achonu, made that above declaration on last Saturday, August 5th 2023 at Nkwerre when some journalists intercepted his entourage at the burial ceremony of late HRH Eze Ngozi Anyaehie, elder brother of the Imo Chief of Staff,Barr.Nnamdi Anyaehie.

According to Achonu, " I have been supporting the police, buying vehicles with my personal money, just imagining when I emerged as Governor? You-the journalists, the Police and other security agencies should be very ready to receive me and welcome me as your next governor. It is a done deal. I am already the governor of Imo State by the super grace of God. Uzodimma is the outgoing Governor. By Nov.11th 2023, I will be elected and be sworn-in as Uzodimma's successor by Jan.15th 2024".

The One-Armed General, Achonu, while speaking, expressed optimism that he is going to be elected as Imo Governor under the platform of Labour Party.

"I want Imolites to believe that the present day insecurity challenges we are facing in the state shall be a history when I am elected into power;

"Achonu is already the governor of Imo. Achonu is already at the Douglas House. You people should be saying it everywhere you go. I will be at Douglas House, come Nov.11th 2023",

"I am very sure of my election victory in the forthcoming polls. The good people of Imo State are very ready and willing to vote for Labour Party. I am very sure of the my votes shall be protected", Achonu submitted.
