The Nigeria Police Council has confirmed Kayode Egbetokun as the substantive Inspector-General of Police (IGP).

The Minister of Police Affairs, Ibrahim Gaidam, announced Egbetokun's confirmation while addressing State House correspondents after the meeting.
Tinubu on June 19 appointed Egbetokun as the acting IGP pending confirmation by the police council.
