The Member who represents Onuimo State Constituency in Imo State House of Assembly, Hon. James Uba Esile, says Imo State has made huge success and progress since its creation on 3rd February, 1986 by the Military Head  of State, late General Muritala Mohammed with late Rear Admiral Mdubuisi Kanu as its first Military Administrator.

The Onuimo Lawmaker said the 48 statehood anniversary of Imo State worth to be celebrated as the foundation of good governance laid by the Founding Fathers of the oil rich state are being kept by leaders especially Governor Hope Uzodimma who he said has advanced Imo positively: socially and economically.

During a chat with our reporter in Owerri, on Monday, Esile posited that Imo State is moving forward, having achieved tremendous feats at 48 years despite challenges.

Esile emphasized that the Shared Prosperity Administration has made huge success on quality road construction and maintenance, youth rejuvenation, job creation and infrastructure, regular payment of salaries and pensions, decentralisation of governance through the creation of development centres in the 27 local government areas of the state with appointment of 52 Coordinators and over 300 Members, a feat he stressed has drawn the government closer to the rural dwellers, adding that the Governor is doing well in education, trade, commerce, industry, agriculture and tourism.

"Imo State is a tourism destination. The relative peace, security, social comfort, quality roads constructed, maintained by His Excellency, Hope Uzodimma, beautify the state which attract tourists and investment.

Esile who felicitated with the Governor, Onuimo and the entire Imo people on the independence anniversary of Imo State, urged all to join hands with the Governor and APC to move the state forward.
