Obibi Uratta Autonomous Community Cerebrates Iriji Festival as Eze Uwaleke Harps For Peace.

The people of Obibi Uratta Autonomous Community in Owerri North Local Government Area of Imo State have celebrated their 2023 New Yam festival in a grand style, thanking God for the safety throughout the farming period and a bumper harvest.
Speaking at the Umuorii Palace, His Royal Highness Eze Prof. Amobi Mike Uwaleke explained that the New Yam festival of Obibi Uratta Autonomous Community is yearly event in November when it's expected that all the yarm farms in the domain are all mature for harvest as the people do not use external yams for the event but home produced ones and thanking God for his safety throughout the farming period and called on the people to remained peaceful, law abiding citizens.
Eze Uwaleke Harping further on peace thanked the people of Obibi Uratta Autonomous Community for their show of love mostly Ndi Oha Uratta, Palace Chiefs and Carbinets members, members of all the Villages, Umuoba, Umuorii,  Umualum, Okwu and  Ndi Iyom,   Ndi Mgboto and many others.

It was a funfair and glamours, display of traditional dance, masqurades as the Traditional Ruler was flagged and surrounded by other prominent traditional rulers during the event Last Saturday, 25 November 2023 including HRH Eze Peter Njamanze of Amawom Owerri Nchi Ise in Owerri Municipal Council and many others.

The Eze Udo Of Obibi Uratta Autonomous Community, Prof. Amobi Mike Uwaleke used the occasion to congratulate the State Governor Senator Hope Uzodimma for his overwhelming victory during the Imo State Governorship election on November 11 2023. 

According to him what played out during the last election was the evidence of good performance on the side of the governor Senator Hope Uzodimma in the State which he pointed out that the people of Obibi Uratta Autonomous Community is one of the major beneficiary on the road rehabilitation exercises from Wetheral MCC Road to Eke Megbuoha Obibi Uratta Market Square respectively.
