SaharaReporters reported on Monday that the Nigerian military on Sunday killed scores of Muslims celebrating the birthday of Prophet Muhammad (Maulid Nabiyy) in the state.
It was gathered that the Muslim worshippers were killed by an aerial bombardment.
The army had said the airstrikes were targeting terrorists.
On Tuesday, the Chief of Army Staff Lt General Taoreed Lagbaja visited the community to commiserated with them and announced that the Nigerian Army takes full responsibility of the action.
But reacting to the unfortunate incident on Wednesday, in a statement signed by TIB's National Coordinator, Juwon Sanyaolu, and General Secretary, Abdulrahaman Abdulmajid, respectively, the TIB rejected the explanation offered by the Nigerian Army describing the tragic incident as a "mistake".
Condemning the unfortunate attack and unwarranted massacre of Nigerians, the movement said the Commander-In-Chief of Nigerian Armed Forces, President Bola Tinubu should be held accountable for the tragedy. "We demand his immediate resignation, forthwith".
According to the rights group, Amnesty International had over the last one year, documented no less than two other cases of mass murder by the Nigerian armed forces.
Citing reports of global International human rights organisation, the movement explained that on the 18th of December, 2022 an air strike by the Nigerian Air Force killed over 64 residents of Mutumji village, Zamfara State. Another incident happened on the 24th of January, 2023, killing over forty people in Doma, Nasarawa State, women, and children inclusive.
The group lamented that in each occasion, the Nigerian army had described the occurrences as a mistake.
"No single person has been held accountable till date. We wonder why Aso Rock hasn't been bombed by mistake. But for the ordinary people of Nigeria, their lives do not matter.
"Nigerians are dying on a daily basis due to unprecedented poverty, and hunger occasioned by Tinubu's anti people policies. They are being killed by bad roads, lack of clean water, and a general lack of access to basic amenities such as hospitals, and decent shelter.
"Insecurity and kidnappings have increased exponentially. Police violence has continued unabated, and Nigerians, especially those living in the North continue to be hunted, and killed like games by insurgents.
"The Tinubu government has done nothing to address this. Rather than confronting the spate of insecurity in the country, the Nigerian government has only succeeded in sacrificing the lives of poor Nigerians.
"We insist that the repeated killings of Nigerians by those meant to protect them cannot be justified under any guise. We reject the excuses, and forthwith, call on the people of Nigeria to hold President Tinubu accountable for this unconscionable act of genocide carried out in Kaduna by the Nigerian Air Force."
