Stand Up For Women Society (SWS), Imo State Branch has assured that it will sustain humanitarian activities to liberate poor women and girls in the society thereby give them happiness, hope for better living and sense of belonging and womanhood.

This assurance was given by the Chairperson of SWS, Imo State Branch, Lib. Meg Odinaka during the Thanksgiving Service/Get-Together Party held at Bruno Hotel, Owerri, on Sunday.

Also, Thanksgiving Service which preceded the party was held at Chapel Winners Church Owerri.

The Chairperson noted that since 2021, SWS has been helping women and children in the society in many ways, enumerating that "in 2021 we visited some Motherless Homes, FMC Owerri where we paid hospital bills for some lessprivileged children, held free medical treatment, gave out sanitary pads to students of Akwakuma Girls and other secondary schools in Imo State".
 
She added that SWS had partnered with an NGO, Michael Asawalam Foundation in Mbano to carry out humanitarian activities. Within these few years God has helped us to touch lives positively. 2024 is going to be a great year for us and we will continue to touch lives meaningfully. Its is on record that we went to national conference in Lagos State and Abuja in 2022 and 2023 respectively".

Stating that the Church Outing and the Get-Together Party were held to thank God for leading them successfully as well as to merry and regig for the coming year, Odinaka urged members to remain committed so that SWS would always soar higher. 

Expressing joy over their success, God's abundance of grace and strength, Vice Chairperson and Secretary of SWS, Lib. Dr. Mrs. Caro Eze Okeke and Lib. Chimekwa Iwu, hinted that the United Nations had recognized SWS Imo State Chapter given to effectiveness, efficiency and commitment of its leadership, saying its leaders are among international leaders who are going to the United Nations Conference in 2024.

They prayed for God's wisdom, sustenance and guidance as they push forth in humanitarian services and social activities in Imo State.

In her Goodwill Message, the International President of SWS, Lib. Barr. Abosede Deborah Ijadele Adetona, eulogized members and leaders of the group for being united and for achieving greatness, praying to God to continue to strengthen them to do more exploits to the edification of the society.

The International President thus encouraged other women to join SWS to have more edge to liberate vulnerable women in Imo State, reflecting that good women propagate better society.
