The indigenes of Umuokanne Autonomous Community in Ohaji Egbema LGA of Imo state was in a very joyful mood recently   as the Nwokoma Royal  dynasty marked her 2023 Coronation anniversary  in grand style.

the well attended event  cum chieftaincy conferment ceremiony which took place at Central School field in umuokanne amidst funfare and  pleasantries witnessed the presence of high profiled personalities who   graced the occasion amongst whom  is the first Female Chief  in Umuokanne  ancient kingdom Chief Mildred  Nkechi Agwaziem  Okocha , Chief Amas Lawrence  Ukonu , Chief Osita Akumefuna (Akunyere 1 of Okanne ) ,Crown Prince Okechukwu Okoro , Hon Chief Evangelist Ihejieto Vincent  Oguzie , Hon Ignatius Odunze representing  Ohaji East development centre , Chief Ifeanyi Goshen Ugorji and  host of other dignitaries.


Speaking with Newsmen after the event His Royal Highness Eze .Sir Mattew Chidozie Nwokoma (KSC , JP  , MPA ,FIBAKM) Okaa -Omee IV of Umuokanne Ancient Kingdom  ,  expressed happiness on the turnout of events , he maintained that the essence of the occasion is to thank God for a successful year   , HRH Nwokoma described umuokanne ancient kingdom  as one of the oldest  and most peaceful community in the south east  ,in his words " Today we are celebrating our annual event  we give thanks to God ,  also today for the first time in history we recorded the first female chieftaincy title , umuokanne  ancient Kingdom is the most peaceful community in the south east , I have God in me  " when the righteous is on the throne the people rejoice " he submitted .

In their respective speeches the Palace Secretary Hon Oguzie, Chief Akumefuna reiterated that the annual anniversary tagged "  Okanne day " is a very special day  in their community while urging the indigenes of the community to continue in their peaceful disposition .

The climax of the event is the  presentation of sword to Crown Prince Okechukwu Okoro of Oforola ancient kingdom and conferment of chieftaincy titles  to deserving sons and daughters who has contributed immensely to the development of umuokanne Autonomous  community , viz Chief Mrs Mildred Nkechi Okocha  confered with ( Ugochinyere 1 of umuokanne ) , chief Amas Ukonu confered with ( Onumarama La Avu Agwa Miri I of Umuakanne ) , and Nze  Ifeanyi Goshen Ugorji confered with ( Okenze Egbuladike 1 of Umuokanne) 

The day also witnessed cultural dance steps courtesy of otuobi  women wing ( Umuokanne  daughters ) . Encomium has been pouring in
