The people of Umuoma Nekede Autonomous Community in Owerri West Council Area of Imo State both men and women have disowned one Mr. Uchenna Nwaneri over alleged impersonation of their President-general.

Stakeholders of Umuoma who visited Federal University of Technology, Owerri,FUTO recently as its host Community disclosed that Mr. Nwaneri had earlier approached the Institution not to release the sum of thirty million naira meant for them as poverty alleviation fund to Nwaneri who is claiming to be the president-general of Umuoma Nekede.

They admitted that Nwaneri was once their president-general, but was relieved of his duties sometime last year over gross-misconduct and abuse of office.

Letters addressed to the Imo State Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs by the traditional ruler of Umuoma,HRH Eze Morrison S.J, Eke and their Legal Adviser,Evans  Azuike concerning the ouster of Mr. Uchenna Nwaneri were made available to the newsmen.

Meanwhile,Hon. Okechukwu Opara was appointed the Acting President-General of Umuoma Nekede last year immediately Nwaneri was relieved of his duty.

Speaking to newsmen,a senior member of Eze Eke's Palace Cabinet,Elder Goddy Obiyor regretted that Nwaneri has continued to impersonate their PG noting that any person(s)or group(s)  dealing with him does so at his/her own peril.

He narrated how he, Nwaneri went to FUTO and demanded  for #30million meant for Umuoma Nekede, but his plans were foisted by Hon. Opara led Town Union.

According to him,"the women of Umuoma had earlier disowned Nwaneri"s wife for impersonating the Community Women Leader. 
We are surprised that Owerri West Sole Administrator,Hon. Victor Osigwe is the person backing Nwaneri.
We want Governor Hope Uzodimma to call him to order.
Our PG,Hon. Okechukwu Opara has done well. He has brought Umuoma people into one page. And we are proud of him".

In a swift reaction,Hon. Okechukwu Opara promised to continue his good work for his people maintaining that the SOLAD is trying to use Nwaneri to  build structure for his Local Government Chairmanship ambition which he has been since his regime as  Owerri West Council boss during former Governor Rochas Okorocha"s administration yearning for.

When contacted via cellphone,Mr. Uchenna Nwaneri directed journalists to meet him  at Civic Centre Estate,New Owerri,but he absconded on the arrival of the newsmen.

While the SOLAD acknowledged that the traditional ruler had earlier informed him that Nwaneri has being suspended as the President-General of Umuoma.
