Again, Amawom Community says no to youth election...reaffirms Mbachu as their authentic President-General

The entire people of Awawom Autonomous Community in Owerri Municipal Council of Imo State, on Tuesday,Feb.27th 2024, have collectively beckoned on what they tagged as " We Say No To Youth Election" in our  Community for now until further notice.

That was coming even as they affirmed the leadership of Comr.Ifeanyi Nkem Mbachu, as the current President General,PG, of Amawom Community.

Speaking to newsmen, the President General of Amawom Community in Owerri, Comr.Nkem Mbachu, said," What happened was an issue, because our Traditional Ruler, HRH Eze Peter Njemanze, made an announcement because of the youth leadership crisis in our community calling for youth election but his announcement was countered by one Hon.Ben Osuji, who is without any base in the community;

Though, he is not the President General of the community and as such he has no jurisdiction to counter the thwart the mandate of our Traditional Ruler;

"The leadership of the community was told to hold on the proposed youth election until after the conclusion of Nov.11th 2023 Imo Gubernatorial Elections;

"Upon the order, everyone obeyed the Police by withholding the Youth Election by the Shared Prosperity Administration but surprisingly Mr.Ben Osuji, who claimed to be the Community PG (an embattled PG who was sacked) who has been causing problems in our community is trying to impose the youth election, whereas we were told by the Police to hold on the youth election;

"The fact is that, they want to conduct the election, and we are saying "no'' to the youth election because no one can conduct the youth election without the order or supervision of the Traditional Ruler and the President General;

"Hence, the matter is pending at the Police (Umuahia Zone 9). We are here in Owerri, because the Area Commander Owerri Urban invited us (Awawom Autonomous Community) and stated that since the zone (AIG) is on top of the matter, that every plan to hold the election should be put on hold until after investigation;

"It is on record that the Imo APC State Party Chairman, MacDonald Ebere, our former Federal House of Representatives member, Hon.Ernest Ibejiako (Nwandaa) and few other persons who does have the interest of the people of Awawom are behind them,  but I am sure that they have failed on arrival. For the sake of record, we are standing against the election for now until the matter is settled", Mbachu submitted.
