The Traditional Ruler of Amawom Autonomous Community in Owerri Municipal Council Area of Imo State, HRH Eze Peter Ezechikere Njemanze ( Ozuruigbo VI ) has accused the Imo State Chairman of All Progressives Congress, APC, Macdonald Ebere and former House of Representatives member for Owerri Federal Constituency, Hon. Ernest Ibejiako of inciting youths to cause crisis in his community.

Briefing newsmen on Saturday, 17 February,2024 in his palace located on Iheanacho Street Owerri, Eze Njemanze accused the duo of enthroning illegal youths leadership who have been causing crisis in the Community.

He stated that the two politicians who hail from Amawom had since two years ago brought in youths who are loyal to them to be messing up the affairs of Amawom and called on the Governor of Imo State, Senator Hope Uzodimma to call them to order.
According to him, "Macdonald Ebere and Hon. Ernest Ibejiako have been aiding one Mr. Ben Osuji to be parading himself as the President-General of Amawom Autonomous Community whereas Hon. Ifeanyi Mbachu is the authentic President-General of the Community.
It's unfortunate that these desperate politicians who caused the downfall of Hon. Ugochukwu Obodo of APC in Imo State House of Assembly have come up again with their political gimmicks by trying to sponsor illegal youth general elections at this time,Amawom Autonomous Community is not in unity. They should focus on their political business and leave Amawom affairs for the traditional ruler who is the Chairman of Community policing in Amawom Community. I want to use this medium to let the public know that Amawom Autonomous Community has no plans to conduct youths elections at this moment or on 27 March,2024 as proposed by the enemies of our Community as authentic leaders that would put Amawom house in order are already working tirelessly to do so,while we have constituted a Transition Committee members that will take over youths affairs with immediate affect and possibly conduct free, fair and credible youth general election within the next three months".

Those appointed by the Traditional Ruler as Youth Transition Government Committee Members include, Hon. Chidi Anukam(Chairman), Hon. John Ekwebelam(secretary), Comrade Gabriel Osuji(Treasurer), Barrister Okey Emeali(Legal Adviser), Mr. Osondu Njemanze (Public Relations Officer).

Others were Mr. Nonso Amadi(member),Comrade Uche Agummanu(member), Mr. Martin Mbachu(member), Mr. Martin Obichiozo(member), Mr. Ashiegbu Chukwuma(member), Mr. Bidemi Akuebionwu and Comrade Ostia Ugorji as members.

In his acceptance speech, the Chairman of the Transition Government Committee,Hon. Chidi Anukam thanked Eze Njemanze and Amawom people finding them worthy to serve them in such capacities.

Hon. Anukam promised to work for overriding interest of Amawom people in general.

He stated that his team will set mercinaries in motion that would guarantee free, fair and credible youth general elections in the next three months.

When contacted via cellphone, Macdonald Ebere's phone number was persistently busy.

While Hon. Ernest Ibejiako stated that they will respond at the appropriate time.
