Farmers in the South East Geo- Political Zone who benefited from the Farm Inputs distributed by government have been urged to make effective use of the items so that they produce sufficient food to overcome hunger, poverty and suffering.
The Agricultural Inputs distributed to the women were Chicks, Fish, Feeds, Fertilizers, among other items. The beneficiaries are mainly indigent farmers who were selected in all parts of South East.
The urge to efficiently use the items to cushion hunger, penury, suffering occasioned by economic challenge in the country was made by Speaker Emeritus, Imo State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Anthony Emeka Nduka, in an interview with journalists, during the Maiden Flag-Off Ceremony of Renewed Hope Initiative Women Agricultural Support Program (Nald/Rhi Women Farm Support Program in the South East Geopolitical Zone), by Her Excellency, Sen. Oluremi Tinubu, at Government House, Owerri, on Wednesday.
Nduka encouraged the women to make good use of the items so that they yield bountifully, thereby helping them to assuage hunger, poverty and suffering. "Let the beneficiaries make good use of the items given to them by government so that they will be good for mankind".
Nduka said the program was germane and timely, as "it turned out to be extremely wonderful. Other states are happy with us because Imo received the First Lady in a wonderful way. The program is a recommendable one because other First Ladies are taking it to their states to flag it off".
While thanking wife of the President, Imo First Lady and Governor Hope Uzodimma for empowering the women with agric inputs, the former lawmaker who represented Ehime Mbano State Constituency was hopeful that in the "next ten years the country will change from the hardship we are facing now to prosperity".
