The Interim Leadership and Traders at World Bank Market Owerri Imo State has reinstated their unflinching Vote of Confidence in Hon. Mrs Tina Ugoezi as a trailblazer and vision bearer who graciously build and equipped the Free Zone on which the beneficiaries are the ones fighting her.
Addressing newsmen at the Market on Friday,23 February 2024, the Vice Chairman World Bank Market Owerri, Comrade Chimex Ogbunna said that the banter from the Livestock Traders against the leadership of the market has been long but got twisted on the issue of building a fence to demarcate the market from the road. According to him the Livestock Traders resilience and agitation against the development indicated a little bit cohesion in the ever busy peaceful market.
He pointed out that the situation took another dimension with the destruction of the project by the alleged few Traders and their wife's and thereafter brandishing a fake letter of suspension against the Chairman World Bank Market Mr. Tina Ugoezi Inciting him to take over as her Vice Chairman .
What the Traders are expecting from the Emmanuel Ezeanochie Leadership of Imo State Amalgamation Market Traders Association is to investigate the immediate and remote causes of the unwanted and malicious destructions of the newly built perimeter dwarf block wall and stealing of the iron bars.
" To us at the leadership helm of the market any Channel of the said letter is illegal and fake and will not be unacceptable ".
"They said that, I am now directed to take over the leadership without any prior knowledge,appointment letter and beside all that, we are strongly with our Chairman, World Bank Market, Mrs Tina Ugoezi who in her magnanimity has done much to uplift the standard of the market and should be accorded the respect",
"We are calling on ISAMATA to investigate and bring those that destroyed the fence to book and task them to rebuild the structure as only panacea for peace in the market". Comd. Ogbunna said.
Responding, ISAMATA State Chairman Hon. Emmanuel Ezeanochie on a phone conversations, said that he was the one that issue the suspension letter on World Bank Market Chairman, Hon. Mrs Tina Ugoezi to enable his investigative Committee to critically look into the matter in the market and report back to the State. We took the drastic measures to ensure that peace returns because we are not going to allow any forms of civil disturbance and disruptions of Traders in any of the market in the State given the tough national economy.
In her reactions, Hon. Mrs Tina Ugoezi said that she wasn't around only to hear that some traders in the Livestock lines with support from some unscrupulous individuals have destroyed the already completed dwarf fence and later on went on jubilations that she has been removed as the chairman of the market.
