"Elections should not be seen by aspirants or voters as a do or die affairs but should be seen as an exercise where the most peaceful, credible and transparent candidate (aspirant) should be voted into power to diligently serve on the mandate for the interests of the people or group".

On that above proposition, the entire members and leadership of Nigeria Union of Local Government Employees, NULGE, Imo State Chapter have decided to conduct an election into new offices on Wednesday, December 13th 2023.

But from the findings unveiled to ThePressman, it was gathered that Imo Local Government Workers are ready, willing and passionate to vote for their most preferred candidate in the person of Comr.Okechukwu Charles Okere, as the next Imo NULGE President in the soon coming polls.

As trade unionists representing Nigerian workers at the Local Government Areas, those in Imo State have earlier chosen to cast their massive votes for their Presidential Candidate, Comr.Okechukwu C.Okere, whom they have already endorsed.

But some desperate persons with questionable characters have risen to pull him down through the media, though they have obviously stumbled and failed on arrival.

From one of their publications with the caption:"Okigwe Local Govt.Staff, Okere in Promotion Scandal...LGSC Chairman, Izuogu Fingered", they alleged uneasy calm whereas the Local Government Workers in Okigwe LGA are peaceful.

"I, Comr.Okechukwu Charles Okere, is serving peaceful with Staffers of the Local Government and Imo State Workers at large. They are bunch of failures and they can't succeed. I  am eager to deliver".

Some detractors have through a letter supposedly signed by one Charles Amadioha, from Ngor-Okpala and addressed to the Executive Governor of Imo State,  he (Amadioha) manufactured a fake and unfounded fabrication of untrue stories against my person.

Also, a supposed letter addressed to the Governor by one Mr.Ikediba titled against the Imo LGSC Chairman, Mrs.Rosemary Izuogu, was fake as paraded by wicked men that hate justice.

"Categorically, I have stated in clear terms that the general public should please disregard those false statements. They are not meant to bring progress rather aimed at tarnishing the reputation of Local Government Workers. They are enemies of progress. We are the winning team and our victory is for sure, God's willing, we shall deliver ", Okere assured.

Continuing in the same vein, Comr. Charles Okechukwu Okere, who was ignorantly accused by some persons whom he described as charlatans and disgruntled elements hinted that they (his enemies) never want his progress, even as he expressed satisfaction that he is the most preferred candidate in their forthcoming Local Government election.

In what he tagged as:RE-PROMOTION SCANDAL.

According to Okere, "My attention has been drawn to a malicious news fabricated by election losers who have been outrightly rejected by the entire workers of the Local Government and the delegates in the upcoming Imo State Delegate Conference because of their fraudulent and abysmal performance in the past years they held sway the leadership of NULGE;

 "I would have ignored them as usual but for the fact that their greed and desperation have beclouded  their sense of reasoning to the point of insulting their employer in the social media;

"They have become so much disoriented that they failed to realize that an insult on a Government Appointee is an indirect insult to the Governor;

"However, for the benefit of our teeming innocent staff, let me expose the lies in their publication;

1. I, Charles Okechukwu Okere, was duly promoted to Level 13 in 2011. As at that date, Mrs.Rosemary Izuogu, was not in the Local Government Service Commission either as a Permanent Secretary or Chairman.

2. I, Okechukwu Okere, graduated as an Accountant with 2nd Class Honors in 1999 and was converted to the position of Accountant 11 in 2002.

 However,  years later,  during the 2005 conversation exercise my name reappeared in the list but I wrote to the LGSC who corrected it and regularized the records. 

3. I'm currently a Director of Finance on GL16 with clean and good relationship with all workers.

It is rather unfortunate but not surprising that blockheads/illiterates who couldn't pass through the 4-walls of the universities as their watery publications can testify) and yet parading fake certificates will resort to throwing sands having seen defeat steering at their face.

I, Okere Okechukwu therefore plead with all aggrieved Local Government workers to forgive them for THEY KNOW NOT WHAT THEY DO.

However, I assure you that the EGYPTIANS YOU SEE TODAY, after 13th of December 2023, YOU'LL SEE THEM NO MORE!
