Imo Election Observers Should be Thorough on Fact Findings.... Police DIG Frank Mba Admonished.

The dice is cast for the long awaited  Imo Governorship election tomorrow being 11 November 2023, Election Supervisor, Deputy Inspector General of Police, , DIG Frank Mba  has admonished all Election Observers, civil society and the media Executives and Reporters to carry out the compulsory monitoring of the election in orderly manner based on thorough facts finding in order
 to avoid any action capable of generating chaos or conflict during and after the Election but to investigate facts on  information gathered before transmitting it to the control room or to the public.

DIG Mba disclosed this while briefing newsmen in the office of the Commissioner of Police Imo State Command on Friday.

The Former Police Public Relations Officer, Police Headquarters Abuja  told those on election duty to ensure that every bit of information at their disposal is properly cross checked before pushing it out to Public to avoid  igniting confusion that may smeared the election.

He explained that Election Observers and the civil society members and media practitioners not to shy away as major partners to contribute genuinely in the improvement of  transparency and integrity of the exercise as the Nigeria police forces have reassured of a support to the strengthening a collaborations and partnership with Election Observers  civil society and others to achieve the successful elections in Imo State.

He said the police command will process information received and act on them without exposing the identity of the source and called on the people of Imo State to report any action capable to truncate the activity of the election in their polling Units.

He  further assured that the police force has already deployed its men for the off cycle Election and have  resources and the operational access to ensure a hitch free and peaceful Elections.

 Further expressed confidence in  the Police on the election duty will  act on rules and regulations as provided on  the Constitution and inline with the electoral Act to ensure a credible, free, fare and credible Elections.

According to him, the police and sister agencies as well as the officers of the paramilitary in Imo State will work in collaboration towards achieving  a violent free Election.

He further encouraged Imo State electorates to go out and vote candidate of their choice without any fear of intimidations, torture and molestations.
