The Governor of Imo State Hope Uzodimma, has made his feelings over the suspected assault unfreeze on the NLC President .Joe Ajaero, by some Unknown security Agencies in Imo State.
Our reporter gathered that the NLC president Comr.Ajaero was scoop up from the NLC State Council Secretariat by armed policemen at New Owerri Area of the state on Wednesday, November 1st 2023 while he is in a meeting with his members planning to embark on a protest and taken to an unknown destination where he was allegedly humiliated and brutalized by the police authorities in the state as alleged.
After winning the Imo off-cycle Governorship election over the weekend, Uzodimma has now come out to say his government regrets the situation the labour leader experienced in the state, but at the same time condemns in its entirety ‘’the attempt by the President of the Nigeria Labour Congress, to take the leadership of Imo State for granted,” he said.
“The sponsored antagonism between Imo State and the national leadership of the Nigerian Labour Congress, politically sponsored antagonism – we are already handling,” Uzodimma said on Tuesday, November 14 at a meeting with the Imo State Council of Elders at the Government House in Owerri.
“The government of Imo State regrets any assault meted on the President of the Nigerian Labour Congress, but at the same time condemns in its entirety the attempt by the President of the Nigeria Labour Congress, to take the leadership of Imo State for granted,” he said.
