Last Saturdays governorship election in Imo State, Owerri West local government area was generally peaceful amidst minor hitches recorded in some polling units.
In most of the polling units visited, voters trooped out en mass to exercise their franchise unlike in the presidential and national assembly elections where the card reader machines failed.
Last Saturdays exercise was marked by an impressive performance of the machines as the finger prints of most eligible voters were duly captured.
Although, some polling units recorded minor cases of vote buying, youth restiveness, intimidation, the election were generally free and fair.
Speaking to our correspondent, a leader in boot 005, Okolochi/Emeabiam ward 4 visited, Hon. Obiageri Oguzie, described the election as the most organized exercise to the glory of God INEC officials arrived on time and was happy for the successful conclusion of the election exercise.
